About sme money
Comparing business finance and business insurance in one place, and pointing you to the right specialist to arrange it.
About sme money
What we do
sme money helps UK business owners work out their options across business finance and business insurance, then connects them with a specialist who can arrange the right product. You compare in one place instead of ringing round a dozen providers, and it costs you nothing to use.
We do the matching. The specialist we introduce you to does the advising and the arranging.

Our regulatory role
What we are, and what we aren't
sme money is not a lender, a broker or an insurer. We do not lend money, place cover, or give regulated advice.
We use technology to find and compare products and make introductions. On the finance side, we connect you with specialist broker partners who between them have access to over 70 UK lenders.
On the insurance side, we introduce you to specialist insurance brokerages that place cover across a panel of leading UK insurers. The formal advice, the application and the final decision all sit with the authorised firm you are introduced to, not with us.
What we cover
The products we compare
We cover two sides of running a business: the money coming in, and the risks worth protecting against. We keep adding to the range as we bring new partners on board, so this list grows over time.

Our motivation
Why we built sme money
Too often, a business owner ends up with whatever product the first lender or adviser they spoke to happened to sell, rather than the one that actually fitted the business. A single bank only ever shows you its own shelf.
We built sme money to widen that shelf. By comparing across business finance and business insurance and matching you to a specialist with real market access, the aim is to help you fund and protect your business without the bias of a single provider. We are candid about what suits you and what does not, even when the honest answer is the less obvious one.
Partnering with us
For brokers and brokerages
sme money also works on the other side of the introduction. We help finance brokers and insurance brokerages generate well-matched leads by comparing products across business finance and business insurance and passing on the businesses that genuinely fit what they offer.
If you run a brokerage and want a steady flow of relevant enquiries rather than a pile of dead ends, we would be glad to talk.

The people behind it
Our founders
sme money was founded by Terry Hogan and Dafydd Roberts, who built the business around impartial comparison and straightforward introductions.
Terry Hogan
Co-Founder
Terry has spent over 20 years building businesses across marketing, data, finance and automotive. He co-founded Regit and grew it from zero to 2.5 million registered users, and has run car finance businesses that wrote more than £100 million in agreements. His early career was in motor retail finance and insurance, so matching business owners to the right funding and cover is a problem he has worked on from both sides of the desk.

He is fluent in both English & Welsh.
